I believe that the symptom of soreness in the knee is not unfamiliar to most middle-aged and elderly people. Many people have experienced this condition in daily life, but what exactly causes the soreness in the knee? Most people don't know much about this. In fact, there are three reasons for knee pain. The first reason is related to various arthritis and joint injuries. 1. Knee pain, joint injuries and lesions caused by various arthritis 1) Meniscus injury There is often a history of trauma and there may be tenderness in the joint space. The pain disappears after rest. MeMurray sign is positive and there may be locking of the joints. 2) Cruciate ligament injury Most patients have a history of trauma and joint instability, and the test result is positive. 3) Cartilage damage Fractures or cartilage fractures may occur after damage to the articular cartilage. 4) Joint Free Rest The joint appears locked and the pain disappears after rest. The diagnosis can be confirmed by X-ray or arthroscopy. 5) Chondromalacia of the patella Young and middle-aged people are prone to anterior knee pain, pain when standing up after sitting, pain when going up and down stairs, and positive thigh compression test. 6) Knee labrum injury The fibrous cartilage labrum similar to the meniscus around the glenoid fossa of the scapula can also cause shoulder pain if it is damaged or torn after abduction. Diagnosis is made through arthroscopy and surgical treatment is performed under arthroscopy. 7) Fat pad inflammation It is common in obese women who experience pain when standing or walking, with tenderness points over the fat pad. 2. Synovial lesions 1) Synovial osteochondromatosis This disease is a chronic disease of the synovium and mainly affects the lacquer joints. This is a process in which synovial tissue is transformed into cartilage tissue, forming multiple enchondromas that separate and fall off, become free in the joints, and form osteochondral nodules after ossification. 2) Pigmented villonodular synovitis Joint puncture is helpful for the diagnosis of this disease, and dark brown plasma-like fluid can be extracted, but the final diagnosis is often based on pathological examination of synovial tissue. 3) Localized nodular synovitis This disease generally invades the knee joint. Unlike the villous type, it rarely has villous protrusions or dark pigmentation, so it is named localized nodular synovitis. The patient is characterized by knee pain, limited movement, locking of the joints, and palpable mobile nodes of varying sizes. 3. Tumors in the joint area Tumors in the joints can cause joint pain, and the distal femur and proximal femur are high-incidence sites for bone tumors. Common ones include giant cell tumor of bone, chondroblastoma, cartilaginous fibroma, aneurysmal bone cyst, synovial sarcoma, osteosarcoma, etc. X-rays and CT scans can assist in diagnosis. |
