What are the symptoms of small cell lung cancer? Do you know these five symptoms?

Small cell lung cancer has many symptoms, such as coughing, most of which are irritating dry coughs. There may also be chest tightness and shortness of breath, in addition to coughing up blood or chest pain, etc. When the lung cancer tumor gradually expands, it will also cause the patient to have obvious difficulty swallowing, so do not ignore any abnormalities.

Small cell lung cancer is actually a relatively common type, and this type of lung cancer cancer cells will grow rapidly in a short period of time, and is more likely to metastasize and spread. Therefore, it is often more sensitive after chemotherapy, and it will also relapse repeatedly after treatment. After recurrence, it will basically be resistant to drugs. So what are the symptoms of small cell lung cancer?
1. Cough
Small cell lung cancer will have a coughing symptom when it first appears, and this cough is basically an irritating dry cough, mainly because the tumor will cause the bronchial tube to be compressed during the continuous spread, so there will be a persistent cough. When coughing, there may also be a small amount of sticky phlegm. If secondary infection occurs, there will be obvious pus and sticky phlegm.
2. Chest tightness and shortness of breath
As the tumor continues to expand, it will naturally lead to tracheal stenosis. Sometimes it may cause compression of tracheal tissues, so the patient will have obvious chest tightness and shortness of breath, especially when sleeping.
3. Coughing up blood
Many people with small cell lung cancer will have obvious blood in their sputum, and the appearance of this blood is directly related to the condition. If cancer cells continue to invade large blood vessels, it may even cause symptoms of severe coughing up blood.
4. Chest pain
If the cell tumor continues to expand in the chest cavity, it will naturally cause obvious impact on the pleura and ribs. During the expansion process, more severe chest pain will also occur. In addition to these symptoms, there will also be obvious headaches, dizziness, etc., which is mainly caused by the tumor compressing the veins.
5. Difficulty in swallowing
After the lung cancer tumor appears, if it is not effectively controlled, it may even cause the esophagus to be compressed, so the patient will also have obvious difficulty in swallowing. If the tumor compresses the laryngeal nerves, then there will be obvious hoarseness when speaking normally, etc. These are some of the more serious manifestations and must be taken seriously.
