Are ovarian tumors benign? There are 3 clinically benign ovarian tumors

There are benign ovarian tumors, and the incidence of benign ovarian tumors is much higher than that of malignant ones, about 70% or more, while the incidence of malignant ovarian tumors is less than 30%. Ovarian tumors are mainly caused by the ovaries being stimulated by hormones and inflammation, and these factors often lead to benign masses, so most ovarian tumors are benign.

Ovarian tumors refer to tumors that grow in the ovaries. They can have certain effects on the normal function of the ovaries, such as causing estrogen secretion disorders, irregular menstruation, etc. In severe cases, they may even cause infertility. Many people think that tumors are malignant diseases when they hear about them. So are there benign ovarian tumors?
1. Are ovarian tumors benign? Ovarian tumors are one of the most common tumor diseases among gynecological reproductive system diseases. This type of tumor can be benign, and the incidence of benign tumors is higher than that of malignant tumors. Benign tumors account for more than 70%, while malignant tumors account for less than 30%. The onset of ovarian tumors is mostly due to the influence of hormone stimulation and inflammation, and these factors often lead to benign lumps, so many ovarian tumors are benign. However, even benign tumors have the possibility of malignant transformation, so it is necessary to actively carry out corresponding treatment after the onset of the disease.
2. Which ovarian tumors are benign?
1. Serous cystadenoma
Serous cystadenoma is a relatively common benign ovarian tumor, accounting for about 25% of cases. Most of the patients are women aged 30 to 40, and the disease is usually unilateral. This type of ovarian tumor is grayish white in appearance, with a very smooth surface and thin cyst wall. The cyst cavity contains a light yellow, clear and transparent liquid. Some serous cystadenomas will have papillary protrusions on the inside, which can protrude from the cyst wall and spread and grow on the surface of the cyst.
2. Mucinous cystadenoma
Common ovarian tumors also include mucinous cystadenoma, which usually occurs between the ages of 30 and 50. The surface of the tumor is relatively smooth and blue-white in color. There is a lot of lotus root starch mucus in the cyst cavity, and sometimes nipple-like protrusions can be seen in the cyst wall. This situation is called papillary mucinous cystadenoma.
3. Mature teratoma
Mature teratoma is also called cystic teratoma or dermoid cyst. This disease mostly occurs in the childbearing age. The size of the tumor is about the size of an adult's fist and it mainly occurs on one side. This tumor is usually round or oval in appearance, with a relatively smooth surface, yellow-white color, and thick cyst wall. Sebum and hair are often seen in the cyst cavity, and even teeth, bones and nerve tissue may be seen.
