Related examination methods for bile duct cancer

Cancer, we are all afraid of it, we can say that we turn pale at the mention of it. If we really encounter it, we will be really scared, because many people can't be cured, and many people will say that they will lose both their lives and their money. Biliary duct cancer is a type of cancer, and many people may not know how to check it when they encounter it. Next, we will learn about the related examination methods for bile duct cancer.

Clinically, bile duct cancer is also a type of malignant tumor, which is closely related to the fact that gallstones have not been cured for a long time. So, if you suspect that you have bile duct cancer, you generally need the following examination methods.

1. Laboratory examination

Total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase and glutamine transferase may be significantly elevated. Transaminases are generally mildly abnormal. This imbalance of bilirubin and transaminases helps to differentiate from viral hepatitis. Prothrombin time is prolonged.

2. Imaging examination

Imaging examinations can help to confirm the diagnosis of cholangiocarcinoma, understand the presence of metastatic lesions, and assess whether the tumor can be removed.

3. CT examination

CT can more accurately display the location and range of bile duct dilatation and obstruction, and has a high accuracy in determining the nature of lesions. Three-dimensional spiral CT biliary imaging tends to replace PTC and ERCP examinations.

4. Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography

Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography is a non-invasive biliary imaging technique that can show the entire intrahepatic bile duct tree, the location and extent of tumor obstruction, and the presence or absence of liver parenchymal invasion or liver metastasis in detail. It is currently an ideal imaging examination method for hilar cholangiocarcinoma.

The above are the examination methods for bile duct cancer. I hope it will be helpful to everyone.
