Will endometrial cancer affect female fertility?

Endometrial cancer is a serious malignant tumor disease. However, as long as everyone has a certain understanding of endometrial cancer, they will know that friends with endometrial cancer are really in great pain. So, can patients with endometrial cancer still have children? Let's hear what the experts say about this issue?

Endometrial cancer: It is one of the most common malignant tumors in women. In developed Western countries, its incidence ranks first among malignant tumors of the female reproductive organs. In recent years, the incidence of endometrial cancer in China has also shown a clear upward trend. Taking the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences as an example, the ratio of endometrial cancer to cervical cancer in the 1950s and 1960s was 1:41.5; in the 1970s it was 1:21.2; in the 1980s it was 1:7.1; and in recent years the two have been almost the same. Endometrial cancer is more common in postmenopausal women, but it can also occur in premenopausal or even younger women.

After menopause, the ovaries secrete less estrogen, while the adrenal glands secrete more androstenedione and convert it into low-activity estrone in the body. Its long-term effect on the endometrium can cause it to proliferate and become malignant. Exogenous estrogen is also one of the causes. There are two types of tumor growth: ① Diffuse type. The cancer invades the entire endometrium, is polyp-like or cauliflower-like, soft and brittle, with bleeding and necrosis. ② Focal type. It is often located in the fundus and horns of the uterus, grows in a localized polyp-like manner, and is prone to early invasion of the muscle layer. Pathological classification under the microscope: adenocarcinoma accounts for more than 80%; glandular keratinizing carcinoma accounts for 11-20%; adenosquamous carcinoma accounts for 7, with high malignancy; clear cell carcinoma and papillary serous are rare and have a poor prognosis.

Endometrial cancer can cause the following hazards:

1. Leading to delayed menopause: According to clinical statistics, the conclusion is that the menopause age of endometrial cancer patients is six years later than that of normal women.

2. Cause menstrual disorders: This is very obvious. Almost all uterine diseases can cause menstrual disorders, and endometrial cancer is particularly prominent. It is common for patients with endometrial cancer to have menstrual disorders, and the amount of menstruation can be three times higher than that of normal women.

3. Polycystic ovary syndrome occurs: Patients with endometrial cancer often experience anovulation, which directly causes the endometrium to be under the action of high levels of continuous estrogen, and polycystic ovary syndrome follows.

4. Inducing ovarian tumors: Patients with endometrial cancer generally have granulosa cell carcinoma or theca cell tumor that secretes higher levels of estrogen, which further causes irregular menstruation and endometrial hyperplasia.

Now after reading the above article, we must understand that the harm to patients with endometrial cancer is really too great. Female friends must be vigilant about this disease and learn more about endometrial cancer so that they can take preventive measures in their daily lives. This is the best way for us to deal with endometrial cancer.
