How long does it take to cure teratoma

Teratoma is a common ovarian tumor that originates from pluripotent germ cells. Teratoma is a solid or cystic tumor covered by a membrane. There are also many hairs, teeth, glands, cartilage and other tissues similar to normal tissues and organs in the tumor. So how long will it take to cure teratoma?

Teratomas can be divided into two types: mature teratomas and immature teratomas. Most of them are mature teratomas, accounting for more than 95%.

The best treatment for teratoma is surgical removal. Although teratoma is covered by a membrane, it usually does not invade surrounding tissues, so it is easy to remove. Rare tumors that are too large, in dangerous locations, or intertwined with surrounding tissues will be difficult to remove during surgery.

For malignant teratomas or teratomas that are discovered late, chemotherapy and surgery are needed for treatment. Chemotherapy followed by surgery is very effective. For small, mature teratomas that are not threatening, they can be observed without treatment.

Teratoma is a congenital tumor that exists at birth, but it may not be discovered immediately. If there are no symptoms, it can remain dormant for a long time, and the tumor can only be discovered through examination. It will only be discovered after the tumor has grown significantly and obvious symptoms appear.

Teratomas are not very serious for the fetus, but tumors that are too large and affect blood flow and circulation can cause heart failure. We should seek medical attention immediately after experiencing abdominal mass pain.
