What is uterine cancer

What is uterine cancer

Uterine cancer is actually endometrial cancer, which occurs in the lining of the uterus. It is a common cancer in the female reproductive system and ranks fourth among the most common cancers in women. It is more common in women aged 50 to 60, and often occurs after menopause. It can metastasize to many parts of the body: from the uterus down to the cervical canal, from the fallopian tubes up to the ovaries; it can also infiltrate the tissues around the uterus; or it can metastasize to areas far away from the uterus through the lymphatic system and blood circulation.

Women who marry early, have children early, have multiple births, or have disordered sexual life have a higher incidence of the disease. It is also believed that the cholesterol in the smegma can be transformed into a carcinogen after being acted upon by bacteria. It is also an important cause of cervical cancer. Possible causes of uterine cancer include:

1. Sexual life: If a woman has more than two male partners, the risk of developing uterine cancer increases significantly.

2. Age: 35 to 45 years old is the most common age for uterine cancer.

3. Sexually transmitted disease infection: Sexually transmitted disease infection usually indicates a more complicated sexual life, and the risk of uterine cancer will be relatively higher.

4. Cervical inflammation: If the cervix is damaged, broken, eroded, or inflamed for a long time, it may turn into early uterine cancer cells.

5. Smoking: Smoking increases the chance of developing uterine cancer: firstly, smoking reduces the body's immunity and accelerates the development of uterine cancer cells; secondly, smoking itself produces some substances that may lead to the development of uterine cancer cells.

6. Female hormones: Some scholars believe that progesterone will change the stability of cervical epithelial cells, making them prone to abnormal changes and possibly leading to the development of uterine cancer cells.
