Causes of jaundice in patients with liver cancer

It is best not to treat jaundice caused by liver cancer with interventional treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine can be used to treat it and achieve good results. Most liver cancer patients are in the middle and late stages after diagnosis. In addition, patients often have cirrhosis, so there are not many opportunities for surgery. Chemotherapy, including interventional chemotherapy, has poor long-term effects on liver cancer and has large toxic side effects. The liver is a delicate organ and is generally not treated with radiotherapy. Modern Chinese medicine treatment has broad prospects.

"Excessive" chemotherapy, "blind" radiotherapy and inappropriate hepatic artery ligation and embolization can easily lead to liver failure such as jaundice and ascites, and even endanger life, which deserves high vigilance. Jaundice and ascites in liver cancer patients indicate liver failure. At this time, chemotherapy, including interventional chemotherapy, should be prohibited. Diuretics are often ineffective. Traditional Chinese medicine immunotherapy is the first choice for treatment. The liver reserve function of cancer patients is very poor. This should be fully considered when selecting drugs, including anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-cancer Chinese medicines and other treatment measures. Otherwise, the patient's condition will worsen and even endanger his life, rather than being caused by liver cancer itself.

The clinical features of liver cancer combined with hepatocellular jaundice are: the skin and mucous membranes are light yellow or golden yellow, and the skin is sometimes itchy, but not as common and severe as obstructive jaundice; both direct bilirubin and indirect bilirubin in the blood are increased; bilirubin in the urine is positive, and urobilinogen is increased; urobilinogen content in the feces may be normal, decreased or absent; serum transaminase is significantly increased; gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, anorexia, poor appetite, abdominal distension, etc. are more obvious than obstructive jaundice.

Jaundice can exist alone or in combination with liver cancer. Once jaundice appears in liver cancer, especially when it progressively worsens, it indicates that the disease is progressing, the prognosis is poor, and the survival period is often short. Traditional Chinese medicine has irreplaceable advantages in terms of patient symptoms. Therefore, in the treatment of tumors, traditional Chinese medicine is indispensable.
