What tests are done to confirm throat cancer

The swelling of the neck may be caused by unconscious collision, or it may be a benign tumor caused by repeated stimulation of inflammation. Therefore, it is not always laryngeal cancer. According to ENT health experts, laryngeal cancer will generally show special symptoms such as cauliflower-like, ulcer-like, nodular or mass-like under high-power lens magnification.

2. For patients with hoarseness, doctors can use dynamic laryngoscope to check the pathological condition of the vocal cords. If the examination finds that the vibration of one side of the vocal cord disappears or vibrates abnormally when speaking, it indicates the possibility of early vocal cord cancer.

3. Extracting sample tissue from suspected laryngeal cancer tissue for experimental observation. This method is called active examination, or biopsy for short. It plays a very important role in the process of confirming laryngeal cancer. By making biopsy slices and carefully examining the properties of cell tissues, laryngeal cancer can usually be identified. For highly suspected patients, multiple biopsies can be performed if the result of a biopsy is negative.

4. CT scan is also a frequently performed examination. CT is a fully functional disease detection instrument, which is the abbreviation of computerized X-ray tomography technology. Its working procedure is as follows: it uses highly sensitive instruments to measure the human body based on the different absorption and transmittance of X-rays by different tissues of the human body, and then inputs the data obtained from the measurement into the computer. After the computer processes the data, it can take a cross-sectional or three-dimensional image of the examined part of the human body and find small lesions in any part of the body, which is very helpful for the diagnosis of laryngeal cancer.

The above methods are very common ways to detect laryngeal cancer. For patients in some special circumstances or hospitals with better conditions, there are often other more accurate detection methods.
