Sigmoidoscopy shows fine granular changes in the mucosa, disappearance of vascular texture, accompanied by erythematous congestion and small oval ulcers, the surface of which is often covered with yellow-white exudate. In severe cases, there are large irregular ulcers.

4. Hemorrhoids: Rectal cancer is often mistaken for hemorrhoids. Generally, internal hemorrhoids are mostly painless bleeding with bright color that cannot be confused with stool. However, the blood in the stool of patients with intestinal cancer is often accompanied by mucus and rectal irritation symptoms. Rectal digital examination and sigmoidoscopy can be used for differentiation.

5. Amebic enteritis: When the lesion develops into the chronic stage, the granulation tissue at the base of the ulcer proliferates and the surrounding fibers proliferate, causing the intestinal wall to thicken and the intestinal cavity to narrow, which can easily be misdiagnosed as cancer. At this time, a biopsy is required.
