How to check for ovarian cancer

How to check for ovarian cancer

The incidence of ovarian cancer ranks third in my country, and the mortality rate is also very high. The complications of ovarian cancer are also issues that patients must pay attention to. Ovarian cancer examination is indispensable in the treatment of ovarian cancer, so patients should not ignore the examination items of ovarian cancer. So what examination items should be done when ovarian cancer is suspected? Let's learn about it together.

Common ovarian cancer examination items:

(I) Immunological examination of ovarian cancer is currently the most ideal method for detecting tumor markers. However, at present, the sensitivity and specificity of ovarian malignant tumor markers cannot meet the needs of early diagnosis. They are mostly used to detect changes in the condition during and/or after treatment. The combined detection of multiple tumor markers, such as the simultaneous detection of CA125CEA, ferritin and tissue polypeptide antigen (TPA), can improve the reliability of qualitative diagnosis.

(ii) B-ultrasound: It can determine the size, shape, cystic and solid location of the tumor and its relationship with surrounding organs, and differentiate giant ovarian cysts from ascites.

(III) X-ray examination: What examination items should be done if ovarian cancer is suspected? The examination items for ovarian cancer are: Abdominal plain film of mature ovarian teratoma can show teeth or bone images, and intestinal angiography can understand the location and size of the tumor and its relationship with the intestines.

(IV) CT and MRI examinations: can be used when necessary.

(V) Vaginal posterior fornix aspiration smear examination, uterine rectal pouch puncture fluid examination, and ascites cytology examination are still simple, easy and fast basic examinations. This is one of the examination items for ovarian cancer.

In addition to routine blood cytology and blood biochemistry tests, some tumor marker tests must be performed, such as CA125. When normal cells become malignant, a molecular marker produced on the cell membrane can cause the host to produce antigens or antigenic determinants of specific antibodies, thereby causing an immune response. Immunological methods, especially the application of monoclonal antibody preparation technology, can be used for detection.

What tests should be done if ovarian cancer is suspected? Ovarian cancer is a relatively common disease among women, but female friends should not be too afraid of such a disease, because the disease itself can be cured. When female friends develop ovarian cancer, they should actively seek treatment, so that they can say that they are responsible for themselves.
