What is thyroid cancer

What is thyroid cancer? Many people in life are not very familiar with thyroid cancer, so they delay the treatment of the disease, leading to more serious consequences and seriously endangering the health of patients and friends. Therefore, we must pay great attention to it. The following is a detailed introduction to what thyroid cancer is.

Iodine is an essential trace element for the human body. Iodine deficiency leads to reduced thyroid hormone synthesis, increased thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels, stimulating thyroid follicle hyperplasia, goiter, and the appearance of thyroid hormones, which increases the incidence of thyroid cancer. There is no consensus on this. A high-iodine diet may increase the incidence of papillary thyroid cancer.

Thyroid cancer is rarely seen as an independent familial syndrome, but it can be part of a familial syndrome or hereditary disease. A small number of families have a tendency to develop multifocal well-differentiated thyroid cancer. Thyroid cancer and familial colon polyposis (such as Gardner syndrome), including colon adenomatous polyps combined with soft tissue, fibromatosis is the most common, combined with fibrosarcoma, is an autosomal dominant genetic disease caused by mutations in the APC gene located on chromosome 5q21-q22, the latter is a signaling protein involved in the regulation of cell proliferation. Under the stimulation of TSH, a small number of people may develop cancer, thyroid cancer.

The discovery of a lump in the thyroid gland, which is hard and fixed in texture and has an uneven surface, is a common manifestation of all types of cancer. The gland has little mobility when swallowing. Undifferentiated cancer may cause the above symptoms in a short period of time. In addition to the obvious growth of the lump, it is also accompanied by the characteristics of invading surrounding tissues. In the late stage, hoarseness, breathing and swallowing difficulties, sympathetic nerve compression causing Horner syndrome, and invasion of the cervical plexus causing ear, occipital, shoulder pain, and local lymph node and distant organ metastasis may occur.

Friends, especially female friends, should avoid using estrogen in their daily life, because it promotes the occurrence of thyroid cancer and needs to be vigilant. To prevent thyroid cancer, we should also pay attention to daily diet. Experts say that thyroid cancer patients should eat nutritious food and fresh vegetables, and avoid eating fatty, spicy and dry food.
