Kidney cancer puncture examination technique

Kidney cancer puncture examination technique

Even if a blood test detects cancer risks, it does not necessarily mean that you have a certain type of cancer. To further confirm the diagnosis, you need to go to the hospital's oncology department for further imaging examinations, such as CT, MRI, PET-CT, and PET-MRI, to detect abnormalities in specific areas.

After the abnormal part is identified, the highest standard for final diagnosis is of course biopsy, and puncture biopsy is one of the main methods of biopsy. The pathology report obtained by puncture biopsy has a very high reference value. There are patients with suspected lung cancer who are diagnosed with only old tuberculosis lesions or inflamed lung tissue after puncture biopsy. They do not need any treatment at all and can go home on the spot.
Many people do not fully understand how the puncture itself is performed and often show fear and resistance. Let us now go to the oncology department and get a close look at the puncture biopsy.
It is to use a very thin steel needle to prick the tumor in the body, take out a small piece of "meat" from the tumor, and then check the cellular components in the "meat" under a microscope to determine whether it is a malignant tumor or what type of tumor it is.
A puncture biopsy can determine whether a tumor is malignant and what type it is by just pricking a needle. Only a needle hole is left on the body surface, without even a trace of blood.
The patient lies or lies quietly on the CT scanning bed in a comfortable position, and a local CT scan of the diseased area is performed. After the location of the tumor is confirmed, the puncture path to the tumor and the part of the tumor to be punctured are designed.
