Cerebral spinal fluid can be obtained by lumbar puncture, and malignant tumor cells may be detected in the spinal fluid. Lumbar puncture is dangerous when intracranial pressure is increased. Now CT and MRI scans can determine whether the ventricles are enlarged, which greatly reduces this risk.
