Can uterine cancer be passed down to family members?

Endometrial cancer is a common malignant tumor in women. Is endometrial cancer hereditary? According to experts, it is currently believed that cancer is not a direct hereditary disease, but there are a few cancers that tend to cluster in families. If someone in the family has cancer, the chance of his children getting cancer is several times higher than that of the average person. These cancers are called hereditary familial cancers. They include esophageal cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, gastric cancer, endometrial cancer, etc. The influence of this genetic factor is called genetic susceptibility in medicine.

Through observation, people gradually realized that lifestyle and exposure to certain carcinogens in the environment can increase the body's susceptibility to cancer. It is also found that some patients with congenital immune deficiencies have a much higher risk of cancer than normal people. For hereditary family cancers, those who often have defective genes are more likely to develop cancer. The most prominent hereditary manifestation is retinoblastoma, but the incidence rate is extremely low. A large amount of clinical data confirms that if there is a cancer patient in the family, the offspring will not necessarily develop cancer.
In addition, there are very few cancer families in the world. About one-third of the members of such families have cancer one after another, and the incidence rate of men and women is the same, and they often suffer from the same type of cancer. Such cancer families must be related to genetics, but in fact, there are not many such families. Some diseases are not cancer, but they can become cancerous and are hereditary. Clinically, they are called hereditary tumor syndrome. For example, familial colon polyposis, polyps can become malignant colon cancer. Such patients must be vigilant and closely observed.
