However, these types of prostate cancer are rare, and the prostate cancer we usually refer to is prostate adenocarcinoma. A few prostate cancers grow and spread quickly, but most grow slowly. Autopsy studies have shown that most elderly men (and even younger men) die from a variety of diseases, including prostate cancer.
