What is a tooth filling

What is a tooth filling

We must develop good oral hygiene habits when we are young, because this is a responsible behavior for our teeth and will not cause tooth decay. Tooth decay is very dangerous. There will be some black holes in our teeth, which will make us feel painful, and will get bigger and bigger if not treated. So how to fill teeth?

First of all, the teeth are decayed. The black area is the decayed part.

At this time, we need to prepare the cavity, which means cleaning the decayed part first, that is, removing the black part. This is a very important step. Whether the cavity is cleaned thoroughly is closely related to the effect of the subsequent filling. If it is not cleaned thoroughly, it is easy to cause secondary caries. If you clean too much, the good tooth tissue will be damaged and the cavity will become bigger. Also, if the prepared shape is not very good, it will cause unstable retention and insufficient resistance after the filling. That is, the filling material will be loose or will not withstand enough chewing force, so the filling material will fall off very easily.

After cleaning, the cavity must be disinfected to kill bacteria on the surface of the tooth. After disinfection, the filling material begins.

Common dental filling materials include silver-mercury alloy, composite resin materials, 3M nano resin, etc. This should be chosen according to your actual situation.

After the filling material is completed, the doctor will remove the part that exceeds the occlusal surface to make it closer to the shape of the original tooth.

After treatment, use a photosensitive curing lamp to irradiate the affected tooth to make the material quickly solidify and polymerize, and the tooth is thus restored.

After a tooth is filled, you need to be careful not to chew with this tooth. It is best to chew with this tooth after two days.
