Basal cell carcinoma: The skin first appears as a hard nodule that is the size of a grain of rice or a pea, with a yellow-red color and a waxy luster. The scab is yellow-brown or dark gray. Ulcers may appear later, forming round or oval irregular erosive ulcers that bleed easily when touched. Squamous cell carcinoma: The skin first appears as a wart-like nodule with a hard base and a dark red surface. The keratin is not easy to peel off, and it bleeds easily when peeled off forcefully. Then the center breaks down, forming an ulcer, and the edges are raised and congested.
