Most stage 2B uterine cancers have already metastasized, and surgical resection often cannot completely cure them. They are prone to recurrence and metastasis. Clinically, the treatment of stage 2B uterine cancer mainly relies on drug therapy, including chemotherapy and traditional drug therapy, and radiation therapy can also be used depending on the situation.
After examination of stage 2B uterine cancer, it was found that the metastasis was very fast and the survival rate with conservative treatment would not exceed three months. If surgical treatment was required, the muscles of the patient's uterine pelvic wall must be penetrated deeply. Otherwise, even if the surgery was performed, it might not be done cleanly and there was a high possibility of recurrence.
Radiotherapy for stage 2B uterine cancer depends on the patient's specific situation, and usually uses a combination of internal and external radiation. As the duration of radiotherapy increases, the damage of radiation to the human body also gradually increases. Therefore, the duration of radiotherapy and the intensity of radiation should be determined based on the tumor relief, symptom relief, and treatment-related toxicity.
