Deep and stringy pulse or slippery pulse, pale red tongue with white fur, or petechiae on the tongue. Treatment: soothe the liver and relieve depression, resolve phlegm and disperse nodules. Prescription: Shugan Kuijian Decoction, add or subtract according to symptoms.

3. Liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome:

Main symptoms: fever in the five parts of the body, hot flashes in the afternoon, sore waist and weak legs, fatigue, decreased appetite, pale face and tired spirit, emaciation, multiple swollen lymph nodes, weak and thready pulse, red or light red tongue, thin white fur. Treatment: nourish the liver and kidney, nourish qi and blood. Prescriptions: Liuwei Dihuang Decoction, Bazhen Decoction, Sijunzi Decoction.

4. Blood heat and toxic stasis type:

Main symptoms: persistent fever, occasional night sweats, swelling that keeps growing, sometimes itchy skin, nodules or erythema, dry mouth and tongue, irritability, dry or hard stools, red or dark purple tongue, yellow and greasy fur or light crimson fur, thin and rapid pulse or thin and stringy pulse. Treatment: cooling blood and removing blood stasis, clearing away heat and detoxifying. Prescription: Xijiao Dihuang Decoction, Wuwei Xiaoduyin.
