Diet after radical surgery for gallbladder cancer

Diet after radical surgery for gallbladder cancer

Patients who have undergone gallbladder cancer surgery are all worried about postoperative recovery. Many patients have poor eating habits after surgery, and they wonder what diet can better help patients recover. The issue of dietary care after gallbladder cancer surgery has always troubled many family members. After the operation, you can adjust your diet to improve your physical condition after the operation.

Patients with gallbladder cancer should pay attention to the following issues in their diet after surgery:

1. Dietary guidance: Choose easily digestible food.

In the near future after the operation, try to reduce the intake of fat and cholesterol, do not eat or eat less fatty meat, fried food, animal offal, etc. If you need it for taste, you can use some olive oil to cook food. Increase protein-rich foods to meet the needs of human metabolism, such as lean meat, aquatic products, soy products, etc. Eat more foods rich in dietary fiber and vitamins, such as fresh fruits and vegetables. Develop the habit of eating regularly and eat small meals frequently to adapt to the physiological changes after cholecystectomy.

2. Resume normal diet.

It is advisable to maintain a low-fat, low-cholesterol, high-protein dietary structure, avoid eating brain, liver, kidney, fish and fried foods, and especially avoid eating fatty meat and drinking alcohol, so as not to affect liver function or cause bile duct stones.

3. Pay attention to mental health.

Always keep your emotions stable, optimistic and open-minded, avoid anger, anxiety, depression and other negative emotions, so as to prevent the regulatory functions of the central nervous system and autonomic nervous system from being disrupted, which will affect the recovery of the compensatory function of the bile duct.

4. Participate in physical exercise and light physical labor appropriately

Regular exercise can help the body recover. Avoid sitting or lying for long periods of time or being too active. Within two or three months after surgery, you can do activities such as walking to promote the body's recovery.

5. Regular review

Take medicine as prescribed by the doctor and go to the hospital for regular follow-up visits. See a doctor in time if you feel uncomfortable. Under the guidance of the doctor, take anti-inflammatory and choleretic drugs, and supplement vitamins B, C, K, etc. according to different situations, which are important for protecting the liver and preventing bleeding.

6. Dietary conditioning for decreased blood count. Gallbladder cancer treatment can cause poor bone marrow regeneration, especially the most obvious decrease in white blood cells. To effectively prevent decreased blood count, patients should supplement high-protein diets during chemotherapy for gallbladder cancer, such as milk, soybeans, lean meat, pig's trotters, sea cucumbers, fish, animal livers, red dates, peanuts, walnuts, black fungus, carrots, red beans, etc. River crabs, black fish, beef, animal-cooked gelatin such as donkey skin gelatin (ejiao) and pig skin gelatin (roupi gelatin) can also help increase white blood cells. During chemotherapy, you can also increase animal bone marrow in moderation, such as stewing the bone marrow of cattle, sheep, and pigs, or making diets with chicken blood, duck blood, goose blood, and pig blood. Chinese medicines that improve immunity and suppress the disease include ginsenoside Rh2 (life-protecting element), cordyceps, and dendrobium. At the same time, you can also eat more five black foods, such as black sesame, black rice, black beans, and black dates.

After gallbladder cancer surgery, you must work harder on dietary care, think more about how to improve the patient's diet, and how to reasonably match the patient so that the patient can eat more. Pay attention to eating small meals frequently, and walk around before meals to improve appetite, so that the patient can recover better and faster.
