TCM Dietary Principles for Gallbladder Cancer

TCM Dietary Principles for Gallbladder Cancer

In the late stage of gallbladder cancer, symptoms include persistent dull pain in the middle and right upper abdomen, indigestion, belching, loss of appetite, jaundice and cachexia. When the gallbladder duct is blocked or the cancer metastasizes to the liver or adjacent organs, a hard mass can sometimes be felt in the upper abdomen. Are there any dietary requirements for patients with gallbladder cancer? The following are the dietary taboos for patients with gallbladder cancer.

1. Foods suitable for patients with gallbladder cancer include:

(1) It is advisable to eat more foods that have anti-biliary and bile duct cancer effects: shark fin, chicken gizzard, buckwheat, coix seed, tofu dregs, and Hericium erinaceus.

(2) It is advisable to eat more foods that have anti-infection and anti-cancer effects: buckwheat, mung beans, rapeseed, toon, taro, scallion, bitter melon, lily, water spinach, ground ear, carp, water snake, shrimp, loach, jellyfish, yellow catfish, and needle fish.

(3) It is advisable to eat foods that have a choleretic and laxative effect: water spinach, burdock root, figs, walnuts, sesame seeds, day lily, and sea cucumber.

(4) People with poor appetite should eat bayberry, yam, coix seed, radish, catfish, and broccoli.

(5) For abdominal pain and jaundice, please refer to the relevant content on liver cancer.

2. Foods that patients with gallbladder cancer should avoid:

(1) Avoid animal fat and greasy food.

(2) Avoid overeating or overeating.

(3) Avoid smoking, drinking and spicy food.

(4) Avoid moldy, fried, smoked, or pickled foods.

(5) Avoid hard, sticky and indigestible foods.

The above are the foods that gallbladder cancer patients should eat and the foods that they should not eat. I hope that gallbladder cancer patients will strictly follow the dietary requirements, which will be very helpful for recovery from the disease.
