How to treat accidental gallbladder cancer after surgery

Accidental gallbladder cancer refers to gallbladder cancer that is discovered accidentally during or after cholecystectomy for benign gallbladder disease, and has increasingly attracted clinical attention. Since gallbladder cancer patients are often not in the early stages when they seek medical treatment, according to a large number of case analyses, only about 23% of gallbladder cancer patients can be radically removed, and the median survival of gallbladder cancer patients is generally short. So how should accidental gallbladder cancer be treated after surgery? Let's introduce it to you below.

After surgery, you may need to be observed in the surgical intensive care unit for a day before being transferred back to a general ward;
Patients are advised to start walking early, usually on the 2nd to 3rd day after surgery, to improve blood circulation, prevent thrombosis, and promote recovery of gastrointestinal function.
Patients will be asked to actively perform coughing and deep breathing exercises and use a nebulizer inhalation device to prevent atelectasis and lung infection;
The wound dressing is usually changed on the third day after surgery. If there is abnormal bleeding or exudation, please inform the medical staff;
In the early postoperative period, intravenous fluid supplementation, parenteral nutrition, acid-suppressing drugs, antibiotics, etc. are required;
Usually, oral feeding can be started after the gastric tube is removed. Initially, water can be started, and then liquid food, semi-liquid food, and finally normal food can be gradually changed.
If you have no obvious appetite at first, you can take enteral nutrition solution under the doctor's advice;
If you have significant bloating and nausea

In case of vomiting, eating should be postponed. A small number of patients may experience obvious gastrointestinal dysfunction and be unable to eat in the short term, and may even have a gastric tube re-placed.
A small number of patients have a mild fever (temperature between 37-38 degrees Celsius), which usually subsides within 3-5 days;
Most patients will experience weight loss before surgery and during the recovery period. This situation will not improve for some time, but they should strive to gain weight after discharge.
