How to treat colorectal cancer metastasis

How to treat colorectal cancer metastasis

Late stage cancer is what we all hate to see the most. If we encounter cancer in our lives, what we need to know most is how colorectal cancer metastasizes in the late stage. So for many people, colorectal cancer is a very harmful disease. We must always be on guard against colorectal cancer in our lives.

Malignant diseases will involve the problem of late metastasis, especially colorectal cancer. In the late stage, it is very likely to metastasize to other organs, which is undoubtedly adding insult to injury for people.

Advanced colorectal cancer metastasis:

First: blood transfer.

Colorectal cancer that metastasizes to the bloodstream is already in the advanced stage. Undifferentiated cancer can metastasize to the bloodstream relatively early. Adenocarcinoma metastasizes more often to the bloodstream. Colorectal cancer metastasizes to organs and tissues throughout the body through the systemic bloodstream. The most common sites of metastasis are the liver, bones, adrenal glands, kidneys, and brain.

Second: Invasive metastasis

The infiltration speed of colorectal cancer along the longitudinal axis of the intestine is slow, and the infiltration distance is small, rarely exceeding 2-3 cm from the edge of the tumor. The infiltration speed along the horizontal axis is faster than the longitudinal axis, and it can infiltrate 1/4 of the intestine in about half a year, and it takes about one and a half to two years to infiltrate one week. Compared with other digestive tract tumors, its infiltration speed is relatively slow. After the colorectal tumor infiltrates deeply and reaches the full layer, it can also spread to adjacent tissues and organs, and can also adhere to the surrounding tissues.

Third: lymph node metastasis.

To facilitate the description of the spread of colorectal cancer in the late stage, we divide the lymphatic drainage above the dentate line of the large intestine into three groups: upper, middle, and lower. Upward, along the posterior colon lymph nodes or presacral lymph nodes, through the common iliac blood vessels lymph nodes or mesenteric root lymph nodes, to the abdominal aortic lymph nodes. The middle group extends to the inner side of the pelvic diaphragm on both sides, spreads to the internal iliac lymph nodes through the lateral ligament lymph nodes and then ascends. The lower group passes through the pelvic diaphragm and the sciatic fossa lymph nodes to the internal iliac lymph nodes, and then goes down through the sphincter and anal skin to the inguinal lymph nodes. Generally, most of the colon lymphatic drainage above 8 cm from the anal verge runs in the upper and middle directions, but the lymphatic vessels can also drain downward when they are blocked by cancer cells. Most of the colon lymphatic drainage below 8 cm from the anal verge is downward, so the resection of the cancer in this section of the large intestine should be removed together with the anus and the fat around it. The chance of lymphatic metastasis of colorectal cancer is greater than that of colon cancer, and the higher the chance is, the lower the end.

What is the late metastasis of colorectal cancer like? We should have a clear understanding through the detailed introduction above. Here we all hope that we can be healthy, so we must learn more about colorectal cancer in our lives. The more we know, the more we understand the disease, so that we can better protect ourselves.
