Are hiccups an early symptom of intestinal cancer?

Intestinal cancer refers to cancerous diseases that occur in the intestines. It is a common malignant tumor in the gastrointestinal tract. Its incidence rate is second only to stomach and esophageal cancer. It is the most common part of colorectal cancer. So are hiccups an early symptom of intestinal cancer? If hiccups are accompanied by difficulty swallowing and weight loss, then you must be careful that this is a manifestation of esophageal cancer. Let's ask a gastrointestinal disease expert to give you a detailed introduction to the early symptoms of intestinal cancer.

1. Blood in the stool is the most common symptom of colorectal cancer, but it is often ignored by patients or misdiagnosed as hemorrhoids, which delays treatment and worsens the condition. Blood in the stool is mostly red or dark red, mixed with mucus and blood in the stool, or pus and blood in the stool, sometimes accompanied by blood clots and necrotic tissue. The above symptoms are the result of blood circulation obstruction caused by the proliferation of cancer, tissue necrosis and erosion, ulceration and infection, and ulcer formation.
2. Changes in bowel habits. Due to the mass and its secretions, intestinal irritation symptoms may occur, such as frequent bowel movements, a feeling of no bowel movement, and tenesmus. However, the discharge is mostly mucus, pus, and blood. Initially, these "false diarrhea" phenomena often occur shortly after getting up in the morning, which is called morning diarrhea. Later, the frequency gradually increases, and even the patient cannot fall asleep at night, which changes the previous bowel habits.
3. Intestinal stenosis and obstruction. Cancer infiltrates around the intestinal wall, narrowing the intestinal cavity, especially at the junction of the rectum and sigmoid colon. Most of them are stenotic hard cancers, which are very likely to cause obstruction. Rectal ampulla cancer is mostly ulcerative, and the ampulla is relatively wide. It is estimated that it will take about 1 to 2 years to cause stenosis and obstruction. The stool will become thinner, defecation will be difficult, constipation will occur, abdominal discomfort, bloating and pain will occur. Due to the accumulation of feces, a cord-like mass can be palpated in the upper part of the sigmoid colon, and sometimes in the left lower abdomen.
