Indigestion and frequent bowel movements

Indigestion and frequent bowel movements

Many young people like to eat food with stronger flavors, such as spicy food. However, if people eat too much of these foods, it will cause gastrointestinal problems, the most obvious manifestation of which is indigestion. Some people believe that indigestion will lead to less bowel movements or even constipation. In fact, indigestion may also cause more frequent bowel movements. So, what should we do if we have indigestion and frequent bowel movements?

The baby's frequent bowel movements are mainly caused by some heart disease and gastrointestinal diseases. This situation is more common among newborns, also known as neonatal indigestion or neonatal enteritis. The main reason why babies have this symptom is that newborns have poor immune function, especially the intestinal immunity is lower. When the intestines are infected, they are unable to weaken and neutralize the toxicity of bacteria. In addition, since the fetus grows in a bacteria-free greenhouse environment in the womb, and after birth it has to grow in an environment contaminated by numerous bacteria and viruses, when the resistance is too weak, the digestive function and the regulatory function of various system functions will also become poor, so newborns are prone to digestive dysfunction and infectious diarrhea.

Frequent bowel movements in infants are a type of infectious diarrhea. Due to different pathogens, the treatment methods are also different. The main treatment is to adopt the principles of diet and nutritional supplementation. Diarrhea in infants is the same as that in older children. Be careful not to drink too much milk when the stool is loose. If breast milk is insufficient, you can add diluted milk. Be careful not to rush, as increasing the amount of milk too quickly is not conducive to gastrointestinal regulation.

When infants have frequent bowel movements and diarrhea, it is mostly related to bacterial, viral and fungal infections. Different bacteria and viruses cause different diarrhea symptoms. Generally, mild cases will cause gastrointestinal symptoms, with bowel movements 5 to 6 times to more than 10 times a day. In addition, there will be symptoms such as low fever, poor appetite, and vomiting. If the condition is severe, the stool may be watery and may be defecated 10-20 times a day. At the same time, it may be accompanied by high fever, vomiting, oliguria, drowsiness and other symptoms. When the baby has frequent bowel movements and is accompanied by these discomforts, you should seek medical attention in time.

If the baby has frequent bowel movements, the stool is like egg drop soup and is accompanied by blood and mucus, has a fishy smell, and the baby cries and becomes irritable during bowel movements, it is mostly caused by Escherichia coli. This is a common diarrhea in infants. For treatment, anti-inflammatory drugs, digestive drugs and oral rehydration salts should be added to replenish water.

The above are the reasons why babies have frequent bowel movements. This is a manifestation of diarrhea, which may be caused by infections such as bacteria and viruses. It is a common gastrointestinal disease in children. Therefore, when the baby has this symptom, attention should be paid to symptomatic treatment according to the specific bacteria that the baby is infected with, so as to better eliminate the symptoms of diarrhea and avoid causing greater impact on the baby.
