Differential diagnosis of colon cancer

Differential diagnosis of colon cancer

Everyone is familiar with colon cancer. The high incidence of colon cancer is frightening. After many people suffer from colon cancer, their intestines are no longer healthy, and even their entire body is no longer healthy. Scientific nursing work is very important. Today, let's learn about the common sense of colon cancer.

Routine blood tests showed microcytic anemia and increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate. Fecal occult blood test was continuously positive. X-ray showed barium filling defect, rigidity of the lesion intestinal wall, weakened or absent peristalsis, irregular colonic bag, and narrow or dilated intestinal tube. Colonoscopy can clarify the nature, size, and part of the lesion and even find early lesions. In addition, serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), B-ultrasound, and abdominal CT examinations are also helpful for diagnosis.

What diseases can easily be confused with colon cancer?

It should be differentiated from inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal tuberculosis, colon polyposis, etc.

What diseases may occur concurrently with colon cancer?

When the tumor develops to a certain stage, especially when it has caused obstruction, it will cause a series of symptoms, including weakness, fatigue, anemia, unexplained weight loss, persistent abdominal pain, black or bloody stools, changes in bowel habits, etc. Rectal cancer can locally invade the bladder, vaginal wall or peripheral nerves, causing perineum or sacral pain, but these symptoms occur in the late stage.

How to prevent colon cancer?

People who consume high amounts of certain vitamins and micronutrients have a lower incidence of colorectal cancer. Studies suggest that folic acid, selenium, and organic sulfur have a protective effect. The protective effect of foods rich in antioxidants (such as carotene and vitamin C) against colon cancer has not been confirmed by prospective trials.

As we have mentioned above, everyone should already know the common sense of colon cancer. Everyone must be aware of the harmfulness of colon cancer and do a good job of prevention in advance. Nowadays, there are many colon cancer patients around us, and its harmfulness is very great.
