What's going on with yellow eyeballs?

When you find that your eyeballs are turning yellow, you need to pay attention to your daily diet, because sometimes improper diet can also cause these symptoms. For example, eating foods rich in carotene or taking some medicines may also cause yellowing of the eyeballs. Frequent rubbing of the eyes or some liver and gallbladder diseases may also cause these symptoms.

1. Improper diet: Eating foods rich in carotene or taking colored medicines can also cause yellow eyes. At this time, adjusting the diet can restore the condition.

2. Rubbing your eyes: There may be a lot of wind and sand in your daily living environment, and your eyes may be relatively large or your eyelashes may be relatively short, so there are more chances of sand and dust blowing into your eyes. At the same time, you spend a long time in front of the computer every day. These two factors cause you to rub your eyes frequently. Avoid rubbing your eyes at this time. After a while, the yellowing of your eyes will disappear.

3. Hepatobiliary disease: Yellowing of the eyes is commonly known as jaundice. Yellowing of the sclera (commonly known as the white of the eye) usually occurs when there is liver and gallbladder disease, which is more common in icteric hepatitis or cholestatic hepatitis. There are two main causes of jaundice. One is hepatocellular jaundice, which is caused by liver cell necrosis; the other is obstructive jaundice, which is caused by bile duct obstruction. Yellow eyes are just an external manifestation of the disease. As the saying goes, we should cure the disease at its root. If you cure the liver disease, the yellow eyes will naturally disappear.
