Does neck pain mean cervical spondylosis?

Nowadays, many people are affected by cervical spondylosis, but we should also pay attention to the scientific understanding of cervical spondylosis. It does not mean that neck pain is necessarily caused by cervical spondylosis. If we want effective treatment and solution, we should focus on comprehensive examination.

1. Cervical spondylosis is a common disease in modern times. Cervical spondylosis brings a lot of trouble to patients in their life and work, and also causes certain mental torture to patients. Many people suffer from neck pain. When they talk about neck pain, they say they have cervical spondylosis. So does neck pain necessarily mean cervical spondylosis? Today, let Professor Yan Yi from the Department of Neurosurgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University give you some scientific knowledge!

2. In fact, “neck pain all day long” is not necessarily cervical spondylosis. There are many other causes of neck pain, such as improper head and neck posture during sleep; a pillow that is too high, of improper hardness or uneven; neck trauma; the neck being exposed to wind and cold; and of course, it may also be caused by early cervical spondylosis. Therefore, if you just start to feel pain, you should pay attention to avoid bad postures, such as lying in bed watching TV or reading, or sleeping on one side for a long time; at the same time, pay attention to using a suitable cervical health pillow, and be sure to choose a pillow that suits your body shape.

3. What are the main symptoms of cervical spondylosis? Cervical spondylosis, also known as cervical syndrome, can occur in middle-aged and elderly people as well as young people. It is a group of comprehensive symptoms caused by gradual degeneration of the cervical intervertebral disc, cervical bone hyperplasia or changes in the normal physiological curve of the cervical spine, which stimulate or compress the cervical nerve roots, cervical spinal cord, vertebral arteries, and cervical sympathetic nerves. The most common symptoms of cervical spondylosis include abnormal sensations such as pain in the head, neck, and shoulders, accompanied by corresponding tender points.

4. Although neck pain is not necessarily caused by cervical spondylosis, it should still be given enough attention. Consider the possibility of cervical spondylosis and take care to prevent cervical spondylosis.
