Radiotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer

Radiation therapy for non-small cell lung cancer includes the following aspects:

1. Radical radiotherapy

It is suitable for patients without distant metastasis, with disease stage < Stage III and radiation range <150Cf112. Correspondingly, palliative radiotherapy is suitable for patients with distant metastasis, severe lung function damage, large intrathoracic lesions and radiation range >150cmz.

2. Postoperative radiotherapy

Postoperative radiotherapy for NSCLC is not beneficial for T2 stage. It is used for cases with pathologically confirmed positive surgical margins, tumor residues in the chest cavity, and lymph node metastasis in the hilar mediastinum. It is expected to reduce the local recurrence rate after surgery.

3. Preoperative radiotherapy

Without conventional treatment, preoperative radiotherapy is expected to improve the surgical resection rate and reduce the postoperative recurrence rate for patients with superior pulmonary sulcus tumors with Pancoast sign and tumors that have invaded the hilum of the lung, mediastinal lymph nodes, major organs and chest wall.

4. Conformal radiotherapy

It is the abbreviation of beam-modulated stereo conformal radiotherapy, which is suitable for patients in the early stage with a long survival period, and for the additional high dose of the primary lesion in the later stage of treatment.
