On the 5th day, a liquid diet without residue can be taken, mainly water, 50 ml each time, once every 2 hours. On the 6th day, a liquid diet can be taken, mainly rice juice, once every 3 hours, 100 ml each time. On the 7th day, egg soup and porridge are mainly taken, 200 ml each time, once every 4 hours. Generally, a semi-liquid diet is taken on the 12th day after surgery, mainly light and easily digestible food. The diet of patients with esophageal cancer after surgery should be gradual, with small meals and frequent meals to promote the recovery of digestive function.

Esophageal cancer radiotherapy patients should develop good eating habits, eat small meals frequently, avoid overeating, quit smoking and drinking, avoid spicy, hard, hot, fried and acidic foods to prevent bleeding and obstruction in the lesion. They should eat high-calorie, high-protein, high-vitamin and easily digestible foods, eat less sweets, and drink an appropriate amount of water after eating every day to wash away the food attached to the lesion and increase

Sensitivity to radiotherapy. At the same time, you should keep your bowels open and do a clockwise abdominal massage before going to bed every day.

In short, no matter what treatment method is used for esophageal cancer, spicy and irritating foods should be avoided, such as peppers, raw onions, ginger, garlic, etc. At the same time, moldy, rotten and spoiled foods should be avoided, smoked, roasted and pickled foods should be avoided, and tobacco and alcohol should be avoided. In addition, it is emphasized that foods that are difficult to digest, such as overheated, hard, and too rough foods, should not be eaten.
