What are the risk factors for breast cancer?

Like many other tumors, the exact cause of breast cancer is not very clear at present. However, relevant research over the years has found some factors related to the onset of breast cancer. In summary, the clear or relatively clear risk factors for breast cancer are mainly the following:

1. Gender: The risk of breast cancer in women is about 100 times higher than that in men. This is the primary and most common factor affecting the incidence of breast cancer.

2. Age The risk of breast cancer increases with age. Before puberty, boys and girls are not very different in many aspects, including breasts. During this period, breast cancer is equally rare in both men and women.

3. Menstrual factors Young age at menarche, old age at menopause and long menstrual duration are all risk factors for breast cancer. Young age at menarche is an important risk factor for breast cancer, which means that children will be affected by estrogen stimulation during the sensitive period of rapid growth and development.

4. Reproductive factors Being single, having a first child at an older age (≥30 years old) or being childless are all risk factors for breast cancer.

5. Exogenous estrogens include oral contraceptives containing estrogen and estrogen replacement therapy for postmenopausal women.

6. Physical fitness Weight gain after menopause is also a risk factor for breast cancer. Some studies have shown that tall stature is also a risk factor for breast cancer.

7. Dietary factors and drinking can increase the risk of breast cancer to a certain extent.
