Symptoms of increased intracranial pressure

This is a typical symptom of brain cancer patients. Brain cancer can cause increased intracranial pressure, which manifests as:

1. Headache, nausea, and vomiting: The headache may be continuous or intermittent, with paroxysmal aggravation, and is usually more severe in the morning. Vomiting is a typical symptom of brain cancer.

2. Decreased vision: Brain cancer tumors compressing nerves may cause patients to have decreased vision.

3. Symptoms such as mental and consciousness disorders: Patients may experience dizziness, which is a typical early symptom. In addition, they may also experience diplopia, cataplexy, confusion, mental restlessness or indifference, epilepsy, and even coma.

4. Changes in vital signs: Moderate and severe acute increase in intracranial pressure can cause the patient's breathing and pulse to slow down and blood pressure to increase.

Local symptoms

Depending on the location of the brain tumor, patients may experience different symptoms.

1. Endocrine dysfunction: Women may experience irregular menstruation, prolonged menstruation or amenorrhea, increased leucorrhea with blood, and excessive secretion of growth hormone causing acromegaly in adult women and gigantism in minors.

2. Tinnitus, hearing loss, deafness, dizziness, etc. are mostly caused by tumors compressing the ear nerves.

3. Different degrees of body numbness, partial paralysis of limbs, etc.

4. Nosebleeds and nasal congestion are caused by the tumor compressing the nasal nerves.

5. Difficulty in swallowing, affected language function, etc. are mostly caused by tumor compressing related nerves.

6. Swollen lymph nodes, especially those in the neck.

7. Symptoms such as prolonged fever, anemia, bleeding gums, etc. for unknown reasons.
