Two methods for preventing and treating bedsores in patients with colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer patients are prone to bedsores due to long-term bed rest, which causes great pain to the patients. Bedsores are also prone to sepsis, which is life-threatening. The following introduces two methods for the prevention and treatment of bedsores to help colorectal cancer patients effectively prevent and treat bedsores.

Prevention

Ingredients: 40 grams of camphor powder, 20 grams of safflower (ground into fine powder), 10 grams of sesame oil, 250 grams of vaseline, mix well and set aside.

Usage: Take a small amount of the medicine and apply it to the affected area for 3 to 5 minutes each time, twice a day. After rubbing, it is best to pad the affected area with a sponge. Note: If the affected area has been damaged and blistered, this prescription can no longer be used.

Treatment

Ingredients: 10g each of frankincense, dragon's blood, and coptis root, 20g each of catechu, puffball powder, calcined gypsum, and alum, 5g of borneol, and 3g of talcum powder (grind them into fine powder for later use).

Usage: Take 50g of beehive and 1000ml of water to make a decoction, first wash the pus and rotten flesh of the affected part, then apply the prepared powder on the wound. You can also use sesame oil to mix the powder into a paste and apply it on the wound for better effect. Finally, bandage with sterilized gauze and change the dressing once every 2 days. Small wounds can usually be cured by changing the dressing 3 to 4 times.

Special attention: After changing the dressing, be sure to keep the area around the affected area dry and hygienic to enhance the body's resistance. In addition to the above prevention and treatment methods, family care is also very important. Family members should help the patient turn over once every 2 hours; those who can move a little should be encouraged to move in bed.
