Two prescriptions for syndrome differentiation and diet therapy for patients with colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer patients become weak after a series of treatments including surgery and chemotherapy, and often suffer from symptoms such as spleen deficiency and dampness, and qi and blood deficiency. Special attention should be paid to symptomatic diet therapy in the patient's diet to effectively relieve the patient's discomfort.

Spleen deficiency and dampness accumulation type

Main symptoms: abdominal pain, abdominal distension, increased frequency of bowel movements, stools containing pus, blood and mucus, or tenesmus, or loose stools, dark red tongue with ecchymosis, thin yellow tongue coating, and slippery and rapid pulse.

Meal: Sophora japonica drink

Recipe: 10 grams of old Sophora japonica flowers, 30 grams of polished rice, and 10 grams of brown sugar.

Preparation method: first boil the rice and get the rice soup, then add the Sophora japonica flower powder into the rice soup.

Usage: Add brown sugar every day and take it in appropriate amount.

Efficacy: Clears heat, cools blood and stops bleeding.

Qi and blood deficiency type

Main symptoms: slight dizziness, pale complexion, dull lips and nails, shortness of breath, fatigue, tiredness and laziness to speak, rectal prolapse, pale tongue, thin white tongue coating, and thready and weak pulse.

Meal: Duck stewed with Panax notoginseng and shiitake mushrooms

Recipe: 10 grams of Panax notoginseng, 30 grams of shiitake mushrooms, 20 red dates, and 1 duck.

Preparation method: First cut the Panax notoginseng into slices, soak the mushrooms and red dates separately, and pour the mushroom juice into a bowl for later use. Kill the duck, remove the hair and internal organs, blanch it in a boiling water pot, cool it with clean water, put the Panax notoginseng slices, mushrooms and red dates into the stomach, transfer it to a stewing casserole, add enough water and boil it over high heat, add cooking wine, and simmer it over low heat for 1 hour; when the duck meat is cooked and tender, pour in the mushroom soaking juice, add salt, monosodium glutamate, and five-spice powder, mix well, boil it again, and drizzle with sesame oil.

Usage: Use as a side dish, eat as you like, eat the duck meat, drink the soup, chew the Panax notoginseng slices, mushrooms, and red dates.

Efficacy: Replenishes Qi and blood, promotes blood circulation and fights cancer.
