Pay attention to the mental health of brain cancer patients during the recovery period

Brain cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the cranial cavity. It has claimed the precious lives of many patients. However, most people do not die during the treatment period, but during the recovery period after completing conventional treatment. Patients eventually lose hope of continuing to survive due to difficulty in psychological recovery.

After a series of treatments such as surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, while the tumor is being contained, the patient's psychology and physiology will be damaged to varying degrees. Brain cancer patients may have mental abnormalities or epilepsy after surgery, which is a huge contrast to their good image in the past and difficult to face and bear; they need family members to accompany and care for them every day, and they cannot work normally to reflect their own value, which makes patients feel useless, prone to pessimism and world-weariness, and may even commit suicide; in addition, the exercise of brain cancer patients during the rehabilitation period is very difficult, including physical activities, language training, thinking consciousness, etc., which requires a long time of persistence and patience. When the exercise effect is not good, the patient is prone to upset and anger or self-abandonment and give up exercise.

Studies have shown that the occurrence, development, treatment effect, recurrence, metastasis, and recovery of malignant brain tumors are closely related to changes in emotions and personality. Therefore, a healthy mind cannot be ignored, especially for brain cancer patients in the recovery period, as it is an important guarantee for prolonging life and improving the quality of life.

After surgery, patients should actively participate in activities within their capabilities to reflect their own value and exercise their abilities. They should communicate more with colleagues and friends, participate in discussions and implementation of health recovery. Patients who are able to participate in group activities related to treatment and rehabilitation once a week will have a longer survival period than patients who simply receive treatment. In short, brain cancer patients must survive this stage, have an open-minded attitude towards life, and do a good job of rehabilitation exercises.
