3 medicinal diets to help elderly patients with colorectal cancer recover early

Elderly patients with intestinal cancer need a long time to recover due to their weak bodies. While receiving conventional treatment, they may wish to supplement with medicated food to strengthen their bodies and replenish their deficiencies to speed up the recovery process. The following three methods can be used as a reference.

Ginseng and Chicken

Ingredients: 1 old hen, 15 grams each of Codonopsis pilosula and Angelica sinensis, appropriate amounts of onion, ginger, salt and cooking wine.

Preparation method: Remove the feathers, internal organs and wash the old hen. Wrap the Codonopsis pilosula and Angelica sinensis with gauze and put them into the pot together with the old hen. Fry and stew. Add appropriate amount of scallion, ginger, salt and cooking wine and cook until the meat is cooked.

How to eat: Eat the meat and drink the soup.

Ginseng and eel soup

Ingredients: 10 grams each of Codonopsis pilosula and Angelica sinensis, 1 eel.

Preparation method: Cut the eel with head, bones and internal organs removed into thin strips, put the codonopsis pilosula, angelica wrapped in gauze together with the eel into the pot, add water and simmer for 1 hour, and add onion, ginger, garlic, salt, cooking wine and other seasonings.

How to eat: Eat the fish and drink the soup.

Efficacy: Tonifies Qi and nourishes blood, suitable for elderly patients with physical weakness and fatigue.

Black sesame porridge

Ingredients: 30 grams of black sesame seeds, 100 grams of rice.

Method: Crush the black sesame seeds and cook them with rice into porridge.

How to eat: Can be taken as a staple food.

Efficacy: This porridge nourishes the kidneys, moisturizes the five internal organs, and can relieve symptoms of weakness and constipation in elderly patients.
