Symptoms of advanced colorectal cancer

1. Right-sided colon cancer: The main symptoms are indigestion, loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, or alternating constipation and diarrhea, abdominal distension, abdominal pain, abdominal tenderness, anemia. In addition, there may be fever, weight loss, and complications such as perforation and localized abscess. At this time, colorectal cancer has entered the most advanced stage.

2. Left-sided colon cancer: Due to the narrow intestinal cavity of the left sigmoid colon, intestinal obstruction is prone to occur, causing constipation or increased bowel movements, and obvious abdominal distension, abdominal pain, and bowel sounds. The intestinal tract at the obstruction site forms ulcers due to continuous expansion and ischemia, and even causes perforation, and abdominal abscesses may also occur.

3. Rectal cancer: In the late stage of rectal cancer, in addition to blood in the stool, the stool will become thinner. The tumor is easily rubbed by feces and easily causes bleeding, which is mostly bright red or dark red. Constipation and diarrhea may occur alternately. If the late stage cancer infiltrates the bladder, it will cause frequent urination; if it metastasizes to the liver, it will cause liver enlargement, jaundice, and even anemia.
