Commonly used combined chemotherapy regimens for lymphoma

A 32-year-old company employee, Xiao Liu, had a physical examination one week ago and was found to have a shadow in his chest. After further CT examination, abnormally enlarged lymph nodes were found in the mediastinum and right neck, with diameters of 3.5×3.0cm and 3.5×2.1cm, CT values of 40-45HU and 30-40HU, and 55-60HU and 35-50HU after enhancement. There were no abnormalities in the heart and large blood vessels, no thickening of the pleura on both sides, and no effusion in the pericardium and pleural cavity. The puncture results showed scattered large atypical cells, which was considered to be lymphoma. The doctor recommended Xiao Liu to undergo combined chemotherapy.

Chemotherapy is a common method for treating lymphoma. Currently, the commonly used chemotherapy regimens include ABVD regimen, Stanford V regimen and BEACOPP regimen.

(1) ABVD regimen: ABVD regimen is currently the preferred chemotherapy regimen and has been used since the 1970s. The four letters represent four drugs, namely doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastine and dacarbazine.

(2) Stanford V regimen: The Stanford V regimen uses a larger chemotherapy dose and the treatment course is usually half of that of ABVD. It is mainly used for radiotherapy of tumors with a diameter greater than 5 cm and enlarged spleens.

(3) BEACOPP regimen: The BEACOPP regimen includes doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastine, procarbazine, etoposide, and prednisone, and is mainly used for patients in stage II and later.
