Experts introduce effective surgical treatment methods for bladder cancer

Among the many methods of treating bladder cancer, surgery is relatively effective. It can control the condition of bladder cancer patients in a very short time and is very beneficial to prolong the survival of bladder cancer patients. So what are the effective surgical methods for treating bladder cancer ? Let's ask experts to tell you about the effective surgical methods for treating bladder cancer.

Generally, effective surgical treatments for bladder cancer include:

Surgery is the main treatment for bladder cancer. Transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) is the first choice for superficial (non-muscle-invasive) bladder cancer. Different intravesical chemotherapy or immunotherapy regimens are used after surgery according to the specific tumor stage and pathological grade. Radical cystectomy is the first choice for muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Systemic chemotherapy can be used selectively before and after surgery to improve the efficacy. For some patients with invasive bladder cancer who cannot undergo radical surgery or wish to preserve their bladder, a comprehensive bladder-preserving treatment plan that includes intracavitary surgery, radiotherapy, and systemic chemotherapy can be used to treat bladder cancer.

TURBT, or Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor, is an effective surgical treatment for bladder cancer. There is no incision on the body surface, and the patient recovers quickly after surgery. It requires a special cystoscope that can remove bladder tumors, called an electrosurgical resectoscope. Its insertion route is the same as that of a cystoscope, entering through the external urethral opening. There is an electrosurgical resection ring on the mirror that can be extended back and forth. When the current passes through, the electrosurgical resection ring can cut the tissue and also burn the tissue to stop bleeding, which is very effective in treating bladder cancer.

The above is an introduction to the surgical treatment of bladder cancer. I believe everyone should have some understanding of this. Patients should choose the appropriate method of treating bladder cancer according to their actual condition. They must be cautious and not make blind choices.
