Experts explain the treatment of liver cancer at different stages

Clinically, the treatment methods for liver cancer patients at different stages should be different. Patients with early-stage liver cancer have a mild condition and can control the condition in time through surgery. However, patients with mid- to late-stage liver cancer have a more serious condition and the effect of surgery may not be very good. What are the common treatment methods for liver cancer ? The following is a brief introduction to the common treatment methods for liver cancer.

In general, common treatments for liver cancer include:

1. Early liver cancer. The treatment of early liver cancer is mainly surgery, and the treatment effect is generally good. If the liver function is abnormal, the liver can be protected first, and surgery can be considered after the liver function recovers. For patients with cancer thrombi in the blood vessels, Chinese medicine, immunotherapy, and intrahepatic artery chemotherapy can also be considered after surgery. For tumors <3cm, surgical resection is the main treatment; for patients with severe liver cirrhosis, local drug injection can be performed under the guidance of B-ultrasound. Generally, anhydrous ethanol is injected into the tumor. After surgical resection of small liver cancer, due to the high postoperative recurrence rate, Chinese medicine, immune drugs or chemotherapy should be given after surgery.

2. Mid-late stage liver cancer. If it is mid-late stage liver cancer, it generally requires a combination of multiple treatments. For patients with normal liver function, we will try to perform radical surgery. If it cannot be removed, we can also perform TAE (transarterial embolization), Chinese medicine, and biological treatment, and try to remove the tumor surgically after it shrinks. For tumors of 8-10cm, radiotherapy can be used for the treatment of liver cancer, and Chinese medicine can be used at the same time. Or anhydrous alcohol can be injected into the tumor, and TAE can also be performed. For tumors limited to about 13 cm, interventional treatment can be considered for the treatment of liver cancer first, with intra-arterial injection of chemotherapy drugs or embolization, and radiotherapy can be performed after the tumor shrinks. If multiple lesions occur, radiotherapy or interventional treatment combined with radiotherapy can be considered. If the liver cancer lesions are diffuse and cirrhosis is severe, Chinese medicine can be used as the main treatment, combined with biological treatment or estrogen.

The above is an introduction to the common treatment methods for liver cancer. I believe everyone should know about it. Patients should choose the correct treatment method for liver cancer according to their actual condition, so as to help liver cancer patients receive better treatment.
