Is the luminous bracelet harmful to the body?

Modern people highly value the material life of leisure and enjoyment. Most people like some novel small objects. For example, luminous bracelets are very popular objects that can glow in the dark night and bring some light to people. However, since most of the materials used to make bracelets are chemical substances, people are worried that they are harmful to the body. Let's take a look at whether luminous bracelets are harmful to the body.

The luminous bracelets commonly found on the market currently usually contain a glass tube interlayer, which isolates peroxide and ester compounds inside and outside the interlayer. After rubbing, the two compounds react to make the fluorescent dye emit light.

Luminous bracelets may contain some heavy metals or radioactive substances. The luminous phenomenon of harmful substances can be roughly divided into two categories: one is that the substance is heated, generating thermal radiation and luminescence. Try not to wear fluorescent decorations at night. There are two principles of fluorescent lighting:

1. Glow sticks that need to be folded to glow

The chemicals in glow sticks are mainly composed of three substances: peroxide, ester compounds and fluorescent dyes. Simply put, the principle of glow sticks is that peroxides and ester compounds react, transferring the energy after the reaction to fluorescent dyes, which then emit fluorescence. The common fluorescent sticks on the market usually have a glass tube sandwich, which isolates the peroxide and ester compounds inside and outside. After rubbing, the two compounds react to make the fluorescent dye emit light.

The ingredients contained in glow sticks are dimethyl phthalate and dibutyl phthalate, which have low toxicity. If leakage occurs accidentally and is inhaled or touched by the human body, it will cause nausea, dizziness, paralysis or even coma, which are harmful to human health.

2. Self-luminous at night

This kind of fluorescence is even more terrifying. This kind of decoration is basically made of radioactive elements (such as phosphorus-32, phosphorus-33, etc.) to stimulate fluorescent substances to emit fluorescence. Everyone knows the harm of radioactive elements to the human body.

So don't wear it on your body, such as luminous bracelets, luminous watches, etc.
