Experts explain the main symptoms of advanced rectal cancer

Clinically, the symptoms of advanced colorectal cancer are quite obvious, and patients with advanced colorectal cancer can often perceive abnormal physical changes themselves. So what are the common symptoms of advanced colorectal cancer ? Here are some common symptoms of advanced colorectal cancer.

In general, common symptoms of advanced rectal cancer include:

1. Rectal examination: most of the symptoms of advanced rectal cancer include palpable masses. In addition to the common systemic symptoms such as loss of appetite, weight loss, anemia, etc., patients with advanced rectal cancer also have local irritation symptoms of the cancer such as increased frequency of bowel movements, incomplete bowel movements, frequent urge to defecate, tenesmus, etc.

2. The enlargement of the tumor can cause intestinal stenosis and signs of intestinal obstruction. The tumor invades surrounding tissues and organs, which can cause symptoms such as dysuria, frequent urination, and painful urination; invades the presacral nerve plexus, causing sacral and lumbar pain; when it metastasizes to the liver, it causes hepatomegaly, ascites, jaundice, and even cachexia. These are common symptoms of advanced rectal cancer.

3. The intestinal mucosa is stimulated to secrete more, and a small amount of mucus is secreted and discharged with the stool, which is also a common symptom of advanced rectal cancer. As the tumor continues to develop, the rectal mucosa is more stimulated, and the patient begins to feel mild discomfort in the rectum, or often has a sense of emptiness and defecation. At the same time, mucus secretion increases, and strips of mucus can often be seen on the surface of the stool. Sometimes constipation symptoms may also occur, but it is not caused by intestinal stenosis. In the early stage of cancer ulceration, patients often have diarrhea, and the stool contains more mucus. When the surface of the tumor ulcerates, the stool becomes thinner and can be like water mixed with mucus and blood.

The above is an introduction to the common symptoms of advanced rectal cancer. I believe everyone has some understanding of this. Once the symptoms of advanced rectal cancer appear, you must go to the hospital for treatment immediately to avoid serious delays in the disease.
