Introduction to common clinical symptoms of bone cancer

Bone cancer is a very serious disease among malignant tumors. It often causes patients to be unable to take care of themselves and become paralyzed. Bone cancer must be treated in a timely manner. What are the common symptoms of bone cancer ? Here are some common symptoms of bone cancer.

Common symptoms of bone cancer include:

1. Pain: This is the main symptom of early bone cancer. It is usually mild at the beginning and often intermittent. As the disease progresses, the pain may gradually increase and become more severe, and develop from intermittent to continuous. Most patients experience increased pain at night, which affects their sleep. The pain may be limited to a local area or radiate to a distant place.

2. Compression symptoms: Tumors that grow into the cranial cavity and nasal cavity can compress the brain tissue and nasal cavity, thus presenting symptoms of bone cancer such as cranial compression and difficulty breathing; pelvic tumors can compress the rectum and bladder, causing difficulty in defecation and urination; spinal tumors can compress the spinal cord and produce symptoms of bone cancer such as paralysis.

3. Deformity: This is also a common symptom of bone cancer. The tumor affects the development and firmness of the limb bones and causes deformity, which is more obvious in the lower limbs, such as coxa vara, genu valgum and genu varum.

4. Swelling or lumps: Generally, they will appear after a certain period of time. Tumors located under the periosteum or superficially will appear earlier, and bone expansion and deformation can be felt. If the tumor penetrates the bone, fixed soft tissue lumps of varying sizes may occur, with smooth or uneven surfaces, and often form larger lumps in a short period of time.

5. Functional impairment: In the later stages of bone cancer, the function of the affected part will be impaired due to pain and swelling. If the disease progresses rapidly, the symptoms of functional impairment will be more obvious, and may be accompanied by symptoms of bone cancer such as muscle atrophy in the corresponding parts.

6. Pathological fracture: This is also a common symptom of bone cancer. The tumor site can easily cause fractures with slight external force, severe swelling and pain at the fracture site, and pathological fractures of the spine are often accompanied by paraplegia.

7. Systemic symptoms: Bone cancer generally has no obvious systemic symptoms in the early stages. In the later stages, due to the consumption of the tumor, the comfort of toxins and the torture of pain, a series of systemic symptoms may appear, such as insomnia and irritability, loss of appetite, mental depression, pale complexion, progressive weight loss, anemia, cachexia, etc., which are all common symptoms of bone cancer.

The above is an introduction to the common symptoms of bone cancer. I believe everyone has some understanding of this. Once symptoms of bone cancer appear, you must go to the hospital for treatment in time to avoid serious delays in the disease.
