How to treat prostate tumors?

Prostate cancer is a common disease among young and middle-aged men, which seriously threatens the health of patients. So, how to treat prostate cancer? Below we will introduce it in detail, hoping to help patients.

Prostate tumors can be divided into acute prostate tumors and chronic prostate tumors. The symptoms of prostate tumors are numerous and vary greatly from person to person. The symptoms of prostate tumors are collectively referred to as prostate tumor syndrome.

Anticancer drugs and some drugs, used alone or in combination, also have auxiliary therapeutic effects, but the results are not ideal.

Radiotherapy is suitable for cases where local prostate cancer cannot be removed and distant metastasis is not obvious. There are three methods: external irradiation: 60 cobalt or deep X-ray is used for external irradiation of the prostate, and the dose is 65-70Gy (6500-7000rad) within 6-8 weeks; interstitial irradiation: radioactive isotopes 198 gold, 222 radium or 125 iodine are used through the pubic bone, perineum and rectum, and the isotope material is directly implanted in the prostate tumor site for irradiation by surgery; whole body irradiation: 32 phosphorus or 89 strontium are used for whole body irradiation, which can relieve the pain of bone metastasis to a certain extent. It is an effective radiotherapy for stage a cases, and the 5-year survival rate can reach about 50%.

Prostatectomy is suitable for patients with highly malignant prostate cancer and no metastatic symptoms. The patient is in good general condition and can tolerate the surgery. The lump is confined to the prostate gland during rectal examination. How to treat prostate tumors? The surgery can be performed through the perineum or retropubic approach to remove the entire prostate gland as well as the prostate capsule, seminal vesicles and part of the bladder neck. If there is retroperitoneal lymph node metastasis, lymph node dissection should be included. Because prostate cancer has the characteristic of early metastasis, there are not many opportunities to obtain radical surgery. For patients in stage B, the cure rate of this surgery can reach 60-70%.

Other methods include orchiectomy, adrenalectomy or hypophysectomy, which are used by some scholars to reduce the level of androgen in the body. The therapeutic effect is similar to that of estrogen or anti-androgen therapy, which can relieve the pain of bone metastasis and slow down the rate of metastasis. The most widely used prostate cryotherapy is to use liquid nitrogen to reduce the local temperature of the prostate to 160°C to destroy the tumor tissue, which has a good effect.

The above content mainly introduces how to treat prostate tumors in detail. I hope it can be helpful to you. If you have other questions, you can come to our hospital for detailed consultation.
