A brief discussion on the treatment of prostate tumors

Prostate tumor is a common disease in men, which is extremely harmful to men's health. So, what are the treatments for prostate tumor? We will introduce it in detail below, hoping it will be helpful to you.

1. Gene therapy. Gene therapy is an exciting and encouraging therapy. With the successful completion of the mapping of the human genome, scientists in the field of biomedical engineering are speeding up their efforts to find ways to change the human body's cancer-causing genes, replace cancer-causing genes with healthy genes, or transform cancer genes to make them "turn evil back to good". We have every reason to believe that in the near future, gene therapy will bring about a comprehensive breakthrough in cancer treatment, and will also make it possible to cure prostate cancer and even all tumors.

Second, interventional therapy. The so-called interventional therapy is to use intra-arterial catheterization to infuse chemical anticancer drugs into the blood vessels leading to the tumor and embolize the blood vessels. There are two purposes of interventional therapy. One is to use the infused anticancer drugs to kill tumor cells and tumor tissues. The second is to embolize the blood vessels to block the blood supply of the tumor, so that the tumor will eventually necrotize due to lack of oxygen and nutrition. At present, the treatment method for this prostate tumor is to insert a special catheter into the bifurcation of the aorta and the internal iliac artery. The drugs infused include cisplatin, mitomycin, 5-FU, etc.; the vascular embolization materials used are gelatin sponges, etc. This therapy is suitable for patients with advanced prostate cancer who are no longer able to undergo surgery and other treatments are ineffective.

3. Immunotherapy. Immunotherapy is not mysterious. In the process of human struggle against infectious diseases, immunotherapy has made many contributions and has been used in the field of tumor treatment in the past. There are two forms of immunotherapy. One is non-specific immunity, which is to use some common immune preparations to fight cancer. Commonly used ones are interferon, interleukin, transfer factor, etc. These immune preparations are also used in the treatment of other tumors and have a certain effect on prostate cancer. The other is specific immunity, which requires special means to produce immune preparations specifically for prostate cancer, such as developing a prostate tumor vaccine and inoculating it in cancer patients to treat prostate cancer. Scientists are constantly working on this.

The above mainly introduces the treatment methods of prostate tumors in detail, hoping to be helpful to patients. Experts remind male friends to do a good job of prevention in life to prevent the occurrence of diseases.
