Brain tumor symptoms you should be alert to

What are the early symptoms of a brain tumor? In other words, under what circumstances should people be alert to the possibility of having a brain tumor?

Clinically, the early symptoms of brain tumors can be summarized into two categories: symptoms of increased intracranial pressure and focal symptoms. The human cranial cavity is a relatively closed cavity. When a tumor grows in the brain, the growth of the tumor increases the contents of the cranial cavity, leading to symptoms caused by increased intracranial pressure, which we call symptoms of increased intracranial pressure. When people have headaches, vomiting, and have persistent attacks and paroxysmal aggravation, they should consider the possibility of increased intracranial pressure and seek medical attention in time. Some patients go to the doctor because of changes in vision, and examinations reveal edema of the optic disc, and they should also consider the possibility of increased intracranial pressure.

What we usually call the three main symptoms of increased intracranial pressure: headache, vomiting, and papilledema, refer to this.

In addition to the symptoms of high intracranial pressure, the early symptoms of brain tumors can cause some focal symptoms due to the different locations of tumor growth. For example, tumors in the frontal lobe can cause obstacles to voluntary movement, language expression, and mental activity. One side of the limbs is often not flexible, and many patients may also experience epilepsy. Lesions in the parietal lobe can cause sensory impairment in one side of the limbs. Lesions in the occipital lobe can cause visual impairment, such as hallucinations and visual field defects.

Of course, some patients do not have obvious early symptoms of brain tumors. Therefore, for some patients with tumors in other parts of the body, if the above brain symptoms occur, it should be considered that the disease may be metastatic to the brain.
