What to do if sesame paste becomes hard

When we eat spicy hot pot, sesame sauce is our favorite. When I go out to eat hot pot, sesame sauce is also a very indispensable condiment. But for some families, after buying sesame sauce, if they can't finish it and don't store it properly, the mahjong will become harder. At this time, there may be some deterioration, and the taste will not be good. So what should I do if sesame sauce becomes hard?

If it has oxidized and deteriorated, it must have been left for a long time, or the storage environment was at a high temperature. In this case, it is recommended not to eat it because microorganisms will multiply and the internal fat will spoil.

If the hardness is caused by evaporation of water, it is edible. The commercial sesame paste generally sold has less water content and easily hardens. The bottle I just bought is of this type. It has a shelf life of one year, but when I bought it I found that it had been manufactured for half a year. The inside has become a bit hard and it doesn’t smell as good as before, but it is still edible.

Therefore, the best way is to judge based on the storage time and storage conditions to determine which situation it is and then decide whether it can be eaten.

1. Try to consume sesame paste within 3 months after opening, because it tastes better and the nutrients are not easily lost. If left for too long after opening, it will easily oxidize and harden.

2. When preparing sesame paste, first stir it in the bottle with a small spoon, then scoop out the sesame paste and add cold water to prepare it. Do not use warm water.

Put the bottle in hot water for a while. If a lot of sesame oil separates from it, stir it slowly and evenly. Otherwise, add some sesame oil and then stir. Generally, sesame paste clumps because it has been stored for a long time or because it is stored in a cold place. If it is the first case, even if it is processed as above, it must be eaten as soon as possible, otherwise the oil and paste will separate quickly. If it is the second case, just move it to another place.
