Adolescent obesity stretch marks

Adolescent obesity stretch marks

If you find a lot of stretch marks on your body during adolescence, you will feel that you cannot accept it at all. This will greatly affect your appearance. Especially female friends will become anxious and sad once it happens, and become less and less confident. At this time, you can make the stretch marks gradually disappear by taking care of your skin. You can apply more body lotion to your skin for nourishment.

Stretch marks are common on the inner thighs, waist and abdomen, and appear as watermelon-like cord-like skin lines with alternating red and light white colors. There are usually multiple lines, which are painless and itchy. Adolescent stretch marks occur not only in women but also in men. It is a physiological phenomenon during the development period of healthy male and female adolescents. The time when stretch marks appear during puberty usually occurs after the pubic hair grows out. In men, it mostly occurs on the inner and outer sides of the thighs and waist, while in women, it mainly occurs in the lower abdomen, thighs, buttocks, breasts, etc.

When stretch marks first appear, they are slightly higher than the skin surface. Later, they gradually turn into irregular, parallel stripe-like or belt-like skin depressions. The skin in the depressions becomes thinner and the surface becomes shiny. They are several centimeters long and about 1 cm wide, and are mostly light red or purple in color. After six months to two years, most of them will turn into light-colored marks close to the skin color. They may not fade for a long time, while some will gradually fade and disappear after puberty.

Stretch marks can be caused by weight loss. When people are obese, fat deposition causes the skin to expand. When people lose weight, the expanded skin shrinks, resulting in the appearance of some patterns.

Stretch marks are formed when bones and muscles grow too fast, exceeding the rate of skin extension, and the elastic fibers in the dermis are broken.

The skin becomes fragile due to the degeneration of elastic fibers, and then it breaks due to excessive stretching, leading to this disease. During this process, the stretching or trauma to the skin is only a factor that affects the distribution of skin lesions.

The occurrence of this disease is closely related to excessive secretion of glucocorticoids by the adrenal glands. This hormone can inhibit the function of fibroblasts, decompose elastin, and cause elastic fibers to denature. In addition, factors such as estrogen and relaxin and increased lateral pressure on connective tissue due to enlargement of different parts of the body are also important factors. In addition, some people believe that special infections (such as tuberculosis) or tumors can also cause stretch marks, which is a poisoning relationship.
