What is the reason for pustules on lips

If there is a skin disease, some pustules will appear on our skin. So do you know what causes pustules on the lips? In fact, this situation is likely caused by getting angry or bacterial infection. If you have a damp-heat constitution and eat a lot of nourishing foods, this situation will easily occur. Of course, some viruses can also cause blisters on the mouth.

Herpes refers to a disease caused by viruses of the herpesviridae family. Currently, there are eight viruses in the herpesviridae family (herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, varicella-zoster virus, human cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus and human herpes virus types 6, 7, and 8) that are known to cause human diseases. These viruses are collectively referred to as human herpesviruses (HHVs). HHV is a group of medium-sized enveloped DNA viruses that can cause a variety of diseases in humans and can remain latent in the body for a long time, causing recurrent infection under certain conditions. Common clinical diseases include chickenpox, shingles, herpes simplex, and genital herpes. It can invade multiple organs of the human body and can occur at any age.

Herpes viruses have the following common characteristics: ① The virus is spherical, and the surface of the viral nucleocapsid is a symmetrical icosahedron composed of 162 shell particles, inside which is a core composed of DNA. There is a lipoprotein envelope around the nucleocapsid, and the outer diameter of the virus is 150 to 200 nm. ②Except for Epstein-Barr virus, all viruses can replicate in the diploid cell nucleus, and eosinophilic inclusion bodies appear in the nucleus. ③The virus can spread directly through intercellular bridges. Herpes viruses mainly invade tissues of ectodermal origin, including skin, mucous membranes and neural tissue. There are three subfamilies of herpes viruses: α, β, and γ. Those associated with human infection include the following:

1.HHV-1

Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) is an alpha herpesvirus. Primary infection of HSV-1 mostly occurs in infants and young children over six months old, and most of them are latent infections, with the virus lurking in the trigeminal ganglion and superior cervical ganglion. A small number of patients may present with acute herpetic stomatitis, herpetic keratoconjunctivitis, herpetic eczema, herpetic encephalitis, etc. Herpes encephalitis mostly occurs in older children and adults, and the mortality rate can reach 70%.

2. HHV-2

Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) is an alpha herpesvirus. Primary infection with HSV-2 is more common in patients after puberty, where it can lurk in the sacral ganglia and mainly cause genital herpes.

3. HHV-3

Varicella-zoster virus (VZV) is an alpha herpesvirus that causes chickenpox and shingles. Varicella is a common infectious disease in children, and herpes zoster is a sporadic disease in adults.

4.HHV-4

EBV, a γ-herpesvirus, is a lymphotropic virus that causes infectious mononucleosis in humans and is also associated with the incidence of Birch lymphoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

5.HHV-5

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a beta-herpesvirus. It can cause congenital infection, and those infected during pregnancy can transmit it to the fetus through the placenta. In addition, CMV may also have carcinogenic effects.

6. HHV-6

Roseolovirus is a beta herpes virus. It will cause the sixth disease, namely roseola infantum (infant roseola). After primary infection, like other herpes viruses, it can cause latent infection.

7. HHV-7

It is similar to HHV-6 and belongs to the beta herpes virus. The symptoms caused are also roughly the same.

8. HHV-8

It is a simian SHV (kSHV), a gammaherpesvirus. It can be found in the lymphatic tissue of patients with Kaposi sarcoma and AIDS.
